~Sea Fishing ~

Bait to use

Dig and find your own bait when the tide is out and choose from Peeler Crag, Lug Worm, Ragworm, Mussels or Shrimps.

Fish to Catch

Flounder, Dab, Plaice, Coalfish, Eel and occasionally Sea Trout.

Best Fishing Areas

Anywhere along the Promenade but best from between the Cote Light and Skinburness.

Best Time to Fish

You can go fishing at any time but it is best to go at low water or 3 hours either side of low water.

WARNING

If you are fishing from West Beach, watch for the tide coming in around or behind you.

Sea Fishing - Beckfoot & Dubmill (near Allonby)

Use the same bait as at Silloth.

Best fished at high water and in rough conditions on a big tide.

Bass up to 15lb have been caught at Dubmill using crab and lugworm.
