The contours of the coastline have been used to set challenges to decades of golfers at Silloth-on-Solway Golf Club.  An outstanding links course of Championship standard, it uses the natural environment together with the weather to lay down the golfing gauntlet to home players and visitors.  Even the shortest of drive and pitch holes are a test of nerve.  An inspiring course but beware the wind and the tracts of gorse and heather.
